For some people a common factor of wearing contact lenses regularly is losing contact lenses. Although contacts are designed to stay in position over your cornea, some people just can’t seem to keep them on there for any length of time. If you happen to be indoors and lose a contact on carpet, it is possible to retrieve and use it again, but you may have to get creative.

Horrific thoughts may flash in your mind as you envision the contact lens becoming dislodged from its resting place on your cornea and sliding back behind your eyeball, never to be seen again. While that type of scenario is usually enough to make any contact lens wearer uneasy, it isn’t actually possible for it to shift behind your eyeball.

To appeal to different personality types and different needs, contact lens manufacturers have designed more than one type of contact. Physically, some people prefer softer contact lenses, while some prefer more rigid contact lenses. In terms of wearing the contacts, some prefer the ritual of maintaining one pair for a longer period of time, while others can’t wait to get them out of their eyes and into the garbage can.

If you are new to wearing glasses, have worn glasses for years, or are showing signs of needing glasses, you are undoubtedly familiar with trips to the eye doctor. You may have to make regular visits over the course of your lifetime, the odd visit just to see how things are going, or you may only go once or twice.

For people who are prescribed corrective lenses, wearing eye glasses becomes a regular part of your lifestyle. If you are fortunate enough to get a pair of glasses that fits your face perfectly, you may barely notice that you’re wearing any at all. However, if you get a pair of glasses that don’t fit your face well, everyday will be an exercise in pain and discomfort.
